Ethical Sourcing and Modern Slavery Policy

At WBND, we acknowledge the potential high-risk nature of our industry and are committed to addressing the complexities within our diverse supply chains. Our focus encompasses modern slavery, ethical sourcing, environmental considerations, and product quality. While we are not a reporting entity under the Australian Modern Slavery Act 2018, we are dedicated to assessing and mitigating modern slavery risks in our supply chain.

Responsibility:

As an SME operating in the promotional products and apparel industries in Australia and New Zealand, we recognize our responsibility to foster transparency and work collaboratively with suppliers and customers. WBND commits to:

  • Avoiding the use or contribution to modern slavery practices.
  • Actively identifying and eliminating modern slavery practices from operations and supply chains.
  • Rejecting any form of exploitative treatment, abuse of labor rights, or coercive control of workers.
  • Understanding that ethical business processes are integral to value for money and fit-for-purpose considerations.
  • Collaborating with clients and customers to ensure purchasing decisions consider factors beyond price alone.

Risks:

Our principal risk areas include sourcing raw materials, direct procurement from high-risk countries, exploitation in processing and transport, use of contract workers, employment of vulnerable populations, and environmental concerns in the manufacturing of promotional products and apparel items.

Our Commitment:

Our approach to risk management is based on building meaningful relationships with suppliers, considering our business operations' influence, understanding and mitigating risks, collaborating with industry associations, and collectively working towards more ethical supply chains.

Feedback and Review Processes:

This policy, along with associated codes of conduct and procedures, will undergo an annual review to ensure relevance and effectiveness.

Ethical Sourcing Criteria:

WBND is committed to complying with ethical sourcing criteria, including labour rights, freedom of association, working conditions, child labour prohibition, environmental standards, and product safety.

Expectations of Our Suppliers:

We expect all suppliers to adhere to the criteria outlined in this policy, encouraging openness and continual improvement. Non-compliance may result in contract review or termination.

Forms of Modern Slavery Relevant to Business (Addendum B):

Debt bondage, deceptive recruiting, forced labour, human trafficking, worst forms of child labour, and slavery-like offenses are forms of modern slavery that we actively work to identify, eliminate, and prevent in our operations and supply chains. We are committed to promoting ethical practices and transparency throughout our industry.
